Upcoming Meetups

Poster bearing the text “Dungeons and Dragons for beginners - and anyone else!” above a purple castle with glowing windows. A figure in a cloak with a sword stands in the doorway with their back to the viewer. Near the bottom of the poster are the details “Monthly, 1-4. Angus Ross Room. Downtown Library”.

Join us for a chance to learn and play Dungeons & Dragons together! All ages are welcome, and we especially encourage caregivers to team up with their children.

Experience the excitement of this iconic fantasy role-playing game—choose your character and discover the adventures that lie ahead in a new one-session adventure each month.

Who?

Anyone with an interest in Dungeons and Dragons and tabletop roleplaying games! Beginners and veteran players are both welcome at our beginner-friendly tables (veterans may enjoy trying their hand at DMing!). All ages are welcome. We do suggest children bring an adult, and children younger than school-age could have trouble, but are always welcome with an adult to help them.

We strive to make our sessions as accessible as possible. If you or your child have concerns about playing related to accommodations, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Where?

The Downtown branch of the Barrie Public Library, just off the foyer.

What Do I Need?

Absolutely nothing! Characters, dice, reference books, and anything else necessary to play a session will be provided. You are more than welcome to bring specific characters, dice, or materials that you prefer to play with. Due to the time constraint of the meetups we usually cannot help with leveling characters at the sessions, but the Discord is a great place to get help with that between sessions.

What If I Want to DM?

That’s amazing! We provide a pre-written, 0-prep adventure you can run for a table along with any materials necessary to do so, just as we do for our players. If you would like to run your own scenarios that’s even better! Please let us know through the Discord or when you arrive that you’re interested in DMing and we’ll get you set up. We encourage new DMs. It’s a great environment to try it out for the first time, or to test something you’ve been working on. One of the group’s founders DMd for over a year before ever having played a game.

⌚ Please arrive as close to the start of the meetup as possible to have time to review the adventure.
